Implant

Dental implants are medical devices surgically implanted into the jaw to restore a person's ability to chew or their appearance. They provide support for artificial teeth, such as crowns, bridges, or dentures. Generally speaking, a dental implant is designed to be a permanent fixture in your mouth. In fact, studies have reported a 90 to 95 percent success rate of dental implants over a period of 10 years. The implant fixture is first placed so that it is likely to osseointegrate, then a dental prosthetic is added. A variable amount of healing time is required for osseointegration before either the dental prosthetic (a tooth, bridge, or denture) is attached to the implant or an abutment is placed which will hold a dental prosthetic/crown.
